A man in his 20s is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious single-vehicle collision in the early hours of Monday morning. The crash took place on the R186 road in Tydavnet , County Monaghan . Gardai, Ireland's national police service, believe the incident occurred sometime between 12.50am and 3am. The injured man was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with life-threatening injuries.
He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he remains in a critical condition. Gardaí are actively seeking witnesses to the collision and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly urging road users who may have dashcam or other camera footage recorded in the vicinity of the R186 north of Tydavnet village between 12.50am and 3am to make their footage available to investigators.
