A man in his 70s died in a workplace accident at a premises near Tullow, Co Carlow earlier today. Emergency services were called to the scene but the man was pronounced dead. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is carrying out an investigation.
Emergency services were called to a premises close to the town of Tullow however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement gardai confirmed that they and emergency services were “alerted to a fatal workplace accident at a premises near Tullow, Co Carlow” on Monday morning. Gardai continued: “A male in his 70s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.“A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court”.
