Manchester United have announced their financial results for the year ending June 30, with the club reporting a record revenue figure of £648.4million
Manchester United have announced a Premier League record revenue of £648.4million for the year ending June 30.
The impressive earnings were achieved despite the team played in the Europa League, not the more profitable Champions League, last season. The club predicts that revenue for the 2023-24 period will be between £650m and £680m. Last November, the Glazers announced they were exploring 'strategic alternatives' to help the club grow, including a potential sale.
With Ratcliffe expected to take a 25 per cent stake and gain control over football operations, the much-despised Glazers are set to remain in power. It's understood that Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim withdrew his interest in a full takeover earlier this month. Part of his bid was understood to be a commitment to clear all of the club's debt.
