A man who died after getting into difficulty while swimming off the Irish coast yesterday morning has been named locally as Paul Bradley, the owner of a popular takeaway on the Lisburn Road in Belfast.

The businessman ran Cafe Fish in south Belfast with his wife Gabrielle McDowell for more than two decades, and had worked in the hospitality industry for around 40 years. “Deepest sympathy to Gabrielle, Jacob, and the rest of the family circle as they deal with this awful shock.” A spokesperson for Newcastle RNLI said: “Newcastle RNLI responded to an incident this morning after a swimmer got into difficulty in the water close to the lifeboat station.
