83 were originally elected as Conservative MPs
Six additional Tory MPs have declared they won't be standing in the General Election , following Rishi Sunak's announcement of a July 4th election date.
The latest six to announce their departure include two former party leadership contenders - Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom. Since Mr Sunak's election date announcement on Wednesday evening, 15 MPs have publicly stated they won't be seeking re-election, including eleven Tories. Three more Labour MPs - Yvonne Fovargue , Holly Lynch and Kevan Jones - have joined the Westminster exodus. Representatives of former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson also confirmed he would not be seeking re-election in Lagan Valley.
