Arsenal fan Matt Lucas opened up about experiencing homophobic abuse while trying to support his team
The Little Britain star is famously an avid supporter of Arsenal, but shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he’d been verbally assaulted twice while heading to games this season alone. Matt shared that the abuse was homophobic, with Matt being openly gay.
In the comment section, Matt took the time to respond to a couple of followers who suggested that he was making the homophobia seem more prolific than it was. The two quickly fell in love, and made things official when they tied the knot in December 2006 in a civil partnership. The London ceremony boasted celebrity guests including Sir Elton John, the late Paul O'Grady, and Courtney Love.
