Lando Norris will start the Dutch Grand Prix on pole with Max Verstappen right behind him and will hope to convert it into what would be only a second career F1 victory
Toto Wolff is backing Lando Norris to "disappear into the distance" and beat Max Verstappen on home soil.
Red Bull used to be able to rely on their race pace to get them out of trouble even when qualifying didn't go their way. But that is no longer the case and, with Oscar Piastri third on the grid, McLaren are in a very strong position as they hunt a third win of the season. He said: "It was really a great lap and is able to nurture the tyres through a single lap and it's very well deserved... Norris' long run was also the best of all yesterday so, if he stays ahead, he will probably disappear into the distance."
And, naturally, he was quizzed about it in the post-qualifying press conference during which he declared he has nothing to prove - even if he knows he can do better when launching off the line. Norris said: "I've started on towards the front a lot of times - I know my stats are not the best for that and, more often than not, I've kind of gone backwards rather than holding positions.
