People woke up to a surprise snow forecast, with much of the country covered in the white weather for most of the day, however, warmer conditions are making their way to Ireland

After nearly half a day of snowfall and icy conditions, warmer weather is on the way for Ireland.

From Monday, 4 March to Sunday, 10 March, there are indications that Ireland will be situated between low pressure to the southwest and high pressure to the northwest.“Much of the country will therefore experience unsettled weather by means of above average rainfall with the exception of areas in the north and northwest which are expected to see below average rainfall.

“Precipitation amounts are signalling a return of above average rainfall as much of the country will be wetter than average. Mean air temperatures are indicating that they will be normal for the time of year this week.” Sunday, 3 March Tomorrow morning will be cold with some icy stretches. There will be sunny spells and scattered showers of rain or hail at first but they will become more isolated later. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with a light to moderate west to northwest wind.

Outbreaks of rain will continue in some areas early on Monday night but by morning most places will be dry. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +5 degrees in a moderate to fresh and variable wind, becoming lighter overnight.
