Parts of the country have already seen snow but there is more on the way in the coming days
Parts of the country were met with an early white Christmas during the week as heavy bouts of snow hit.
Temperatures are set to plummet on Saturday night, with temps to go as low as minus five, so be sure to wrap up if you are headed out for the evening.Although the night will be mainly dry, it will be very cold with Met Eireann warning of severe frost and with ice on roads and paths. Patches of freezing fog in many areas also and some wintry showers will develop in eastern coastal counties.
Although the national weather forecast confirms we will be in for a good deal of dry weather, showers of hail, sleet and snow will be persistent, mainly in coastal counties. If you are looking for easy ways to defrost your car in the cold weather, be sure to not make this common mistak.
