Temperatures are expected to hit 27 degrees soon and last into next week
Ireland's upcoming heatwave will continue into next week with temperatures expected to reach 27 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
"The weekend will give us the best of it . It will still stay warm in the early days of next week too, possibly not quite as warm and then in the middle of next week, there's a greater threat of some showers and some cooler conditions at that stage. Certainly for the rest of this week and especially over the weekend, some very pleasant summer sunshine in store.
In terms of the general forecast, high pressure will build over Ireland over the coming days, bringing mostly dry conditions with increasing amounts of warm sunshine. "The good news is that latest European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts charts shows the fine weather might last until the middle of or late next week. Good bit of uncertainty after Wednesday but up to Wednesday looks largely settled and warm. I love bringing good news but I’m not built for heat," he saidA cloudy morning is expected to change as the day goes on with temperatures set to rise to as high as 24 degrees in the east of the country.
