Storm Darragh is behind us but Met Eireann have warned that it will be an icy week as temperatures will plunge to a freezing -3 degrees during this week - wrap up warm
Storm Darragh wreaked havoc across the country over the course of Friday and Saturday, with thousands of homes still left without power.
Things will stay mostly dry during the first half of the week as temperatures will plunge to subzero temperatures. In their outlook for the week, Met Eireann have written: "Generally dry with light winds but cold, with frost, ice and possible fog. Turning more showery later this week."Monday 9th December Frost will clear on Monday to leave a mostly dry day with low winter sunshine occurring widely. Cloudier however across east Leinster with a few showers feeding in off the Irish Sea.
Wednesday 11th December Dry but generally quite dull with overnight mist and fog stubborn to clear some areas. Cold with highest temperatures 1 to 6 degrees, coldest across the western half of the country, in a light northeast breeze. Another calm, cold and frosty night is expected to follow with widespread fog. Lowest temperatures of -3 to zero degrees.
