A wet night ahead moving into tonight with rain in both the north and east and scattered showers elsewhere. Some of these showers are expected to be heavy.
Although the freezing conditions that braced Ireland recently are now gone, Met Eireann’s forecast for the day ahead and into Tuesday has shown nothing but rain.
Today: According to the national forecaster, Monday will be "cloudy and misty with hill and coastal fog. During the morning there will be widespread rain in Ulster and scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle elsewhere." Although the rain will clear northwards overnight, the showers will continue countrywide and may develop into longer spells of rain at times in the south and east. The lowest temperatures for the night will be between six to nine degrees, with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds.
