Ireland weather: Met Eireann issue update on Sudden Stratospheric Warming event as snow forecast in the UK
Met Éireann has provided an update on the Sudden Stratospheric Warming that is "ongoing" as snow has been forecast for the UK.
Ireland's long-range weather forecast currently shows no indication of snow and it is set to be a dry and settled week with high pressure dominant. However, the national forecaster warned that give the ongoing SSW event, it adds a "high degree of uncertainty" to the forecast. Staying generally dry tonight with just a slight chance of showers in the east and southeast. Early cloud will gradually give way to some clear spells. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees, coolest in the west with some frost possible. Northeasterly breezes, light in strength.Another mostly dry day with patchy light rain or drizzle possible in the east and southeast. Largely cloudy with the best of any bright spells in western areas early in the day.
