For many families, next week is the last day of the summer holidays before the kids head back to school - unfortunately the weather won't be ideal for any last minute activities
This summer has been a mixed bag for sure but it looks like things won't be ending on a high with Met Eireann predicting unsettled conditions for next week.There will be sunny spells scattered throughout the week also so hopefully we will have a glimpse of sunshine through the rain.
Monday 19th August Overcast, wet and breezy on Monday with rain spreading eastwards across the country through the day. There is the potential for some heavy falls and spot flooding in the south. Southerly winds will increase fresh and gusty with the rain. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees. Rain will clear early in the night, with frequent showers following from the west. Some showers may be heavy with isolated thunderstorms possible.
Becoming mostly dry early on in the night, with just isolated showers on Atlantic coasts, along with cloud increasing from the west. Outbreaks of rain will develop in the northwest by dawn. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
