Our week of sunshine and hot temperatures is coming to an end as autumn will be settling in for good with thunderstorms, flooding, hail and more expected in the coming days
Met Eireann have warned of grim conditions for the next few days as thunderstorms, downpours, hail and flooding are on the cards.
According to Met Eireann, it's time to wrap up warm and get the raincoat out after this week's sunny weather.Saturday 21st September Mist and fog patches will gradually clear and the cloud will break up to allow some sunny spells to develop. Later in the day, showers will move in from the east and south to affect parts of Leinster and Munster mainly, some heavy with a few thunderstorms possible and spot flooding.
On Sunday night, rain will continue in the south Leinster and Munster, but will clear to the south overnight. The rest of the country will be dry with clear spells further north. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees with light northerly breezes and some patches of mist and fog developing.
