A surprising new non-metal-themed DLC pack for Metal: Hellsinger adds tracks by Paramore, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, Muse and more.
The list makes for interesting reading as a majority of the newer tracks are either pop, EDM, or other non-metal genres. The only exception is Disturbed’s Down With the Sickness, which could have easily fit among the game’s original tracklist.
Due to the lyrics in the new songs, Metal: Hellsinger has been forced to raise its age rating from PEGI-13 to mature, which seems to imply that the uncensored version of the songs will be used. This is notable since during the height of popularity for music-based games such as Guitar Hero, the radio edit was almost always used to keep age ratings down.
The Essential Hits Pack is now available for $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99. A new Music Edition edition of the game is also now available, which includes both the base game and the new DLC.We sat down with David Goldfarb and Trivium's Matt Heafy to chat about the intersection between video games and metal musiccalled the game “an incredibly well-realised concept, packed to bursting with excellent music, unique weapons and a gameplay loop that’s instantly addictive.
We added: “It’s a game that we’ll keep installed for a long time, even beyond the point of completion, as the chase of higher and higher scores against your mates is so engaging.”
