People in receipt of weekly social welfare payments will see a €12 increase in their payments from January - it's just one of the many measures announced in Budget 2024

In less than two months, millions of people will receive a weekly boost that will result in €624 more in their pocket a year.

The maximum rate of all weekly social welfare payments will increase by €12 with proportional increases for qualified adults and people on reduced rates of payment. In the same week, 214,000 people in receipt of the disability support grant will also receive a bonus €400 payment.
