UPDATE: Steven_Fisher10 spoke with the father and grandmother of a 1-year-old boy who was found safe after a suspect stole a car while the child was inside:
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., medics inside an ambulance spotted the stolen vehicle and called police. Responding officers then found the baby safe in the backseat of the Mitsubishi Mirage on the 2800 block of Huntingdon Street less than a mile away from where it was stolen.
Police said the vehicle was still running, the heat was on inside and the child was sleeping. The baby was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for an evaluation but was not injured."Honestly, we don't have a lot to say but we're very much relieved, very much for the happy ending," the child's father told NBC10."Just want to get him home. Want to get him checked out of course but his mother is elated. Over the moon.
Police are still searching for the suspect who initially stole the car. Police said he was wearing a long black coat, black pants and black sneakers.
