Paul Overy of Ask About Wealth, a self-proclaimed financial guide for Ireland’s high earners, says there is a relatively simple way to save tens of thousands on your mortgage repayments
An Irish financial expert has shared a “guaranteed way of saving yourself €40,000 or more on your mortgage”.
“Here’s a tip for 2025”, says Paul, “Instead of paying 12 monthly payments a year to your mortgage, try paying 13”. Read more: 'Tried-and-tested' ways to cheaply dry your clothes inside By Paul’s calculations, a mortgage valued at €500,000 over 25 years that is paid over 13 payments a year instead of 12 will be fully repaid in 22 years - 3 years ahead of schedule. Which will result in a financial saving of around €40,000.
