Showers will continue tonight resulting in long spells of rain in the west and northwest and scattered outbursts in the east and southeast."Sunny spells will develop through the day but the showers will remain widespread with some heavy and possibly thundery downpours," Met.ie says. Outbreaks of heavy and possibly thundery rain will hit the northwest that evening, while Thursday morning will start dull and wet for the southern half of the country with drier and sunnier conditions further north.
"Highs of 14 to 17 degrees in mostly light to moderate northerly winds, but winds will continue fresh to strong near southwestern coasts for much of the day.
