“When I asked them, ‘Where do you want to celebrate New Year and Christmas? They said, ‘Of course in Ukraine.’ I asked, ‘Don’t you feel afraid?’ They said, ‘No, no, we’re not afraid.’
On Friday, as air raid sirens sound, Ms Loskutova and her family will come together, wear traditional clothing and eat Ukrainian dishes, with the exception of milk and meat. The family also plan to go to church for an evening service that lasts until the early hours of the morning.
