Devastated Christine, whose grief drove her to move to England in 2009, wants Commissioner Drew Harris to hand the investigation over to the Serious Crime Review Team
The mother of innocent murder victim Anthony Campbell has written to the Garda Commissioner demanding a meeting over the unsolved case.Anthony, 20, who had no involvement in criminality, was gunned down as he worked in gang boss Martin 'Marlo' Hyland’s house in Finglas, North Dublin, on December 12, 2006.Christine, 54, said despite meeting with Garda Assistant Commissioner Angela Wills last October, nothing has been done to help push the case forward.
"Almost 17 years have gone by and there has been absolutely no progress made whatsoever. There were 21 people arrested back then... yet no one has ever been charged. Anthony was working as an apprentice plumber when he was shot along with gang boss Martin “Marlo” Hyland. Mr Williams made the claims while he was testifying in the trial of Joseph Warren, 30, who was accused of taking part in a raid on a cash-in-transit van with Dunne in Co Kildare, in 2007.
