Everton and Ireland centre-half Jake O’Brien has finally broken into the first-team as a right-back
David Moyes has explained his deployment of Jake O’Brien at right-back by comparing the Ireland centre-half’s first-team breakthrough with that of a player from his first spell in charge.
According to Moyes, youngsters can benefit from playing out of position early on - but he sees Corkman O’Brien playing in a central role in the longer-term. He made two substitute appearances in the Premier League - against Aston Villa and Manchester United - and two League Cup appearances before Dyche’s departure in January.
“He played ever so well, really well against Brighton and Kaoru Mitoma. Even the game against Liverpool he was really good.
