David Moyes is back at Premier League club Everton 16 years after he signed Seamus Coleman from League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers.
David Moyes has joked that Everton shelled out “a bit much” for Seamus Coleman when they landed the Ireland captain from Sligo Rovers for £60,000.
On the back of McStay’s appraisal of the right-back, he sanctioned the five-figure move, now widely viewed as the best piece of business done by the Premier League side. The Donegal native has not played since the 1-1 draw with Manchester City on St Stephen’s Day, just his fourth appearance of the season, as he has struggled with a calf injury.
“I would absolutely hope so,” he said, “because I'd like that for many reasons. But we always have to do the right thing and play the players who are going to get us the best results.“He's a huge member of the dressing room, a huge member of the team – he leads the team brilliantly well here.
