Ayub Qassim and a man believed to be his holiday pal 'Rocky' answered a series of questions about the case and addressed conspiracy theories swirling around the tragic Brit's disappearance
Appearing on camera for the first time since Jay Slater's body was found in Tenerife Ayub Qassim and 'Rocky', who are believed to have travelled to their AirBnB with him prior to his demise, have said that his death was a tragic accident. Ayub, along with Rocky, was among the last people to see the 19 year old before he disappeared on June 17.
The post-mortem results revealed that he suffered multiple injuries consistent with a fall in the rugged terrain, according to Spanish officials. He denied having anything to do with what happened to Jay, saying: "No, of course not. Mate, what do you reckon happened to him? He had a tragic accident, you know what it's like. Taking it out that way. The kid didn't have his funeral, have a bit of respect."
When asked about Jay's fear upon leaving their flat, Qassim responded: "I don't know why he was scared and he ain't here to answer that question. I don't want to say, people could be going through something in their own heads, who knows, do you know what I'm saying?"
