A Philadelphia man is charged with murder in the beating death of Samantha Maag.

, with a metal pipe on the eighth floor of the Regus building on the 300 block of Chestnut Street in Old City around 2 p.m.Responding officers found Stepien, who is charged with murder, holding two pipes and he was arrested at the scene. The attack was captured on surveillance video, according to police.

Maag, who graduated from Triton Regional High School and attended Rowan University, bought a house just blocks from her parents in the Blenheim section of Gloucester Township. “She came in regularly. She introduced us to her boyfriend. She was just a kind soul. It took a while for her to really open up to us, but she felt very comfortable here.”“It’s awful. She was a really sweet person and only had good things to say about people.”
