Parents and all adults are being told to avoid giving National Lottery products to children this Christmas .

Read more: Mortgage rates fall to lowest level in more than a year These figures are a result of a newly published report that was commissioned by the Regulator of the National Lottery. It looked at the National Lottery Operator’s efforts to ensure retailers do not sell National Lottery products to those that are under 18.
Regulator of the National Lottery, Carol Boate, said: “While a popular gifting option at this time of year, National Lottery tickets or scratchcards are not appropriate Christmas gifts for under-18s, no matter how well intentioned the purchaser might be.”
