It's all down to its colourful doors
A street has been fondly nicknamed "Balamory" by the local community - and its all down to its colourful doors. Wilson Street in Newark is well known for its brightly coloured doors, as each terraced house in a set of 16 boasts a different colour, including pink, yellow, green, red and different shades of blue.
She described choosing the colour as "a family decision" and loves living on the bright street, which she said "is quiet, and it's a bit like Balamory." When asked why she moved there, Virigina replied: "It's the central location, we used to work on the market and we can walk everywhere from here. The 36 year old continued: "Every year or so he will paint them and ask you what colour you want your door to be. I used to live at number 12 and I picked yellow, which is why it is yellow.
