The series, which was produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, centres around a motley crew of podcasters who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a coastal Irish town
Netflix has released the first trailer for their new Irish-set dark comedy TV series Bodkin, which was filmed in a number of counties around Ireland.
All seven episodes of the darkly comedic thriller, which was filmed in Wicklow, Dublin and West Cork, will premiere on Netflix on Thursday 9 May. English actress Robyn Cara plays Emmy, a bright, funny and eager to please researcher who has been helping Gilbert organise this podcast to a 'T'. But underneath her competent exterior, Emmy is clearly gnawed at by insecurities which she tries to hide with enthusiasm and comedy. Pulled between the sharp Dove and laconic Gilbert, Emmy is struggling to find her own voice.
Co-Showrunner and Executive Producer Alex Metcalf loved filming Bodkin in Ireland and said that locals welcomed the cast and crew with open arms. Dubliner Siobhan Cullen, who plays Dove on the show, agreed. "It's been really brilliant shooting at home in Ireland, especially shooting in West Cork," the actress said. "It's, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places in the world."
