The Renters Reform Bill 'no-fault' eviction ban could cause chaos in student housing, it warns.
Student properties are typically let many months before tenants move in at the start of the academic year
The government has said the bill would protect renters from a "very small minority of rogue landlords" who threaten eviction to silence tenants.would remove the right of landlords in England to evict tenants for no reason with only two months' notice, using the Section 21 process. The National Residential Landlords Association said: "As it stands the bill will decimate the student housing market.
Newcastle University Students' Union student advisor Ruth Gibson said the bill had "good intentions" but "does raise some concerns".
