A Nottinghamshire chippy has narrowly missed out on winning the crown at prestigious national awards. The Cod's Scallops in West Bridgford was one of five across the UK in the running for Restaurant of the Year.
Owner John Molnar said: "It's an amazing achievement for us in a restaurant that is under 12 months old." He had been hoping to repeat the success of 2020 when the very first Cod's Scallops in Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, was named the UK champion.The West Bridgford site has a 38-seater licensed restaurant with a vast menu offering up to 20 types of fish and shellfish such as salmon, monkfish, oysters, lobster and mussels.
