Maguire and Adeleke have prospered at Duke and Texas respectively
Olympics legend John Treacy sees parallels between the rise of Rhasidat Adeleke and Irish golfer Leona Maguire .
Maguire too is on a scholarship at the world’s outstanding women’s sports university, bar none, Duke in North Carolina. “Leona Maguire made essentially the same decision to go to Duke and she was training there with people who have similar ability,” says Olympics silver medallist Treacy.“So the standards are similar to what, for example, Rhasidat is experiencing and there is no doubt whatsoever being around people who have similar standards raises your own game as well no matter what that sport is.
