A major incident has been declared at Alder Hey Children's Hospital following the stabbing of multiple people in Southport, Merseyside, with at least one person dead.
One person has tragically died after a horror stabbing in Southport this morning. It's believed more than 10 other victims, including both children and adults, have been rushed to hospitals with serious injuries.
Elsewhere, ITV's Paul Brand revealed on X that casualties had been taken to Alder Hey, Aintree, Southport and Formby hospitals, reports the Mirror. Users on social media have expressed their shock at the unfolding events, with many sending well-wishes to the injured. Southport's MP, Patrick Hurley, voiced his alarm over the situation, stating on X, formerly known as Twitter: "I am deeply concerned by the reports coming from Merseyside Police about a major incident on Hart Street in Southport today."
