,” : I seem to remember a few years ago when the collective conservative movement went apoplectic when Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the playing of the National Anthem rather than standing at attention. The fact that he did this to bring attention to the epidemic of unarmed Black people being murdered by police officers offered no defense. Outrage, recrimination and indignation seemed universal, loud and unending among the righteous conservatives.

Now we have the moral leader of the conservative movement demanding that we suspend the Constitution because he lost the election, and he doesn’t like it. Also, without his being able to appoint and control the attorney general, the Department of Justice will fulfill their purpose, which is pursuing justice and enforcing the law.

That self-righteous conservative movement that would have tarred and feathered Mr. Kaepernick seems to have suddenly lost its voice. Long ago it lost its moral compass and its backbone. Not enough conservative leaders have condemned Trump for trashing the Constitution, the very bedrock of our democracy. Just another case of situational morality from the right.
