Opinion: Why can't Donald Trump just tell us why he had all those secret documents? [Opinion]
Is anyone surprised by Trump’s mishandling of classified material? It’s not a recently acquired behavior: remember when he shared classified information with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, compromising a key intelligence source on the Islamic State?
His supporters prefer to center the conversation on Trump policies they like, diverting attention from the risk he poses to national security, but it’s long past time to face facts: Trump, a serial braggart, cannot resist an opportunity to show off. With classified national security information in his hands, this is not merely obnoxious, it’s dangerous.
Americans cannot afford to place our safety and that of our allies in the hands of a man who has proven many times that he views the Presidency as something to “win,” not as a serious responsibility.
