The Padres got one of their most productive hitters back Thursday, as Brandon Drury returned and served as their designated hitter against the Diamondbacks.
The Padres have averaged 3.1 runs a game and hit a total of 11 home runs in the 10 games Drury missed, and six of those were in back-to-back three-homer games. Drury spent the early part of this week at the team’s complex in Peoria, Ariz. He worked out Monday and Tuesday and played in a game with minor leaguers Wednesday in which he got six at-bats.Roberto Clemente Day
