The Minister for Social Protection also hinted that a €560 Child Benefit lump sum paid to new parents could also be on the cards in the upcoming budget, set to be announced next month
Budget 2025 will be announced in only a few short weeks and the government have begun to finalise the measures that they will be rolling out.

“And I will be looking at all of those measures as we put together a budget for the 5th budget we’re preparing now, and again, it is looking at people who are on disability payments, carers, pensioners and working families.” She said: “The records will show that I have discussed that with my officials and I actually think it is a good idea.
