A European Tour star has gone after several golfing legends including Sir Nick Faldo, Paul McGinley and Dame Laura Davies after his criticism of her commentary at the Masters last weekend
PGA Tour golfer Eddie Pepperell has named golf legends including Sir Nick Faldo, Paul McGinley, Butch Harmon and Dame Laura Davies as 'old timers' while brandishing their commentary as 'nauseating stuff'.
The commentary team have years of experience in the roles, with Sky Sports regularly bringing all four on as guests in major tournaments. But Pepperell believes that changes must be made. Pepperell tweeted: "I’ve been quite critical of the TV commentary over time in golf, but Dougherty, Coltart, Howeller and Beem are a terrific fourball tonight on Sky. This is what we needed last week at Augusta, not the nauseating stuff from the old timers."
One wrote: "You must be joking. Nothing more nauseating than listening to some of the fanboying they do," while another said: "I usually agree with you, Eddie & enjoy your takes but I enjoyed the coverage last week. Seemed fitting for the Masters."
