One law enforcement source said: “There has long been crossover between football hooliganism and some of the groupings and individuals we are seeing behind the existing situation. Another law enforcement source said: “This has been a long and detailed investigation. The investigation remains at the evidence gathering stage but we do believe it is worth pursuing further.”A spokeswoman for the National Crime Agency said: “The NCA is supporting partners and the wider law enforcement response to the violent disorder, including through specialist intelligence collection and development.
