Prince Harry opens up about how his father gave him the hurtful nickname 'spare' after his birth, as revealed in his memoir.
Prince Harry has often been described as the ‘spare’ to the heir, Prince William , a nickname he has resented since he was old enough to understand the demeaning term.In the book, Harry revealed for the first time which royal family member first dubbed him the ‘spare’, and sadly it seems the name was given to him at birth by his own father.Harry said his father gave him the hurtful nickname after learning that his then-wife, Princess Diana, had given birth to a second son.
After Kate Middleton announced she had been diagnosed with cancer, it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "reached out" privately to her and Prince William. One royal expert has claimed there is a possibility that Harry and Meghan "may spring surprises" Kate and William in order to move forward and ease past issues.
"The best way of resolving the rift, if it is to be resolved, is to do it privately," he told The Sun. "With Catherine and the King's illness - that is an enormous game changer even when there are deep family rifts.
