Revolut reports that these ticket scams were most widespread on social media platforms Facebook, X, and WhatsApp, while consumers aged 25-34 were the most vulnerable
Revolut has issued a warning to Irish rugby fans following a sharp increase in ticket scams during this season’s Six Nations Championship.
However, Revolut has warned its customers that “scams will be prevalent” ahead of the match and is urging rugby fans to be extra diligent. The bank identified that ticket scams were most prevalent on social media platforms Facebook, X, and WhatsApp, while consumers aged 25-34 were the most vulnerable potential victims.
"Sadly, fraudsters capitalise on the scarcity and demand for these events, particularly ahead of Championship-defining matches such as this weekend’s. We urge customers not to panic-buy or fall for offers that are too good to be true.
