The reaction to Deirdre's heartbreaking story on social media was universal
People all over Ireland were brought to tears listening to Galway Rose, Deirdre Jennings, talk to Rose of Tralee host, Dáithí Ó Sé, on RTE 1 on Monday evening.
Fighting back tears, Deirdre, talked about how close she was to her father and about how her family and friends have supported her through her struggles with her own mental health. "Galway Rose, unbelievable what a girl to talk about her mental health and the death of her dad - winner for me," said one viewer on X.
"Galway Rose holding the country in her hands there speaking about mental health," another viewer said.
