Driving tests will partially take place as normal to for people who provide essential services

The Road Safety Authority has urged people waiting for driving tests who are not essential workers to cancel them. However, theory tests will not go ahead for the next six weeks due to Ireland's second locdown.

Anyone who does not fall under that category is asked to cancel their test online to give that slot for essential workers who needs it. A statement reads: "Under Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid19, effective from midnight on Wednesday 21 October, for six weeks, the Government has classified some Road Safety Authority services as essential services.

"The RSA does not hold details that would identify the employment status of any customers among those who have been given a test date to sit a driving test over the next six weeks, therefore we will not be cancelling any existing scheduled driving tests.
