RTE has outlined its reasoning for not broadcasting this Saturday’s eagerly awaited Cork-Limerick hurling tie live.

It is understood that the throw-in time was a stumbling block in the negotiations between RTE and the two counties, though the lack of live television coverage should only serve to swell the gate on Leeside for this Allianz Hurling League Division 1A tie, something which may well have been a factor too.
