He shared the news live on air earlier today.The Ray D'Arcy Show airs Monday to Friday on RTÉ Radio 1 from 3pm until 4.30pm.

Ray's salary, along with his colleague's pay packets, made the headlines during the RTÉ payment scandal last summer. He recently revealed that he was "angry" during this tense time. "I was very honest at the time, I came out and told people what I was on, and I was in the commercial sector for 14 years, so I know what the salaries are outside of RTÉ and therein lies a story that's never told, because it doesn't suit the narrative."
