The band have been hit with serious controversy and viewers were quick to react

Ireland's Eurovision entry Wild Youth took to the Late Late Show on Friday night admitting their recent clash with author JK Rowling has been "very stressful" in the run up to the Eurovision.

The debate caught the attention of author JK Rowling, who criticised the band for their statement and accused them of "preening, self-satisfied misogyny" for sacking their Eurovision creative director over his tweets. "It's very stressful," he admitted. "I think as well because she kind of hyper focused on one thing and really highlighted one thing that we have never referenced or spoke about, and focused on that being the main reason as to why we parted company, which isn't necessarily the truth. It's not the truth at all."

While another added: "Say what ya like but that Wild Youth Eurovision tune has a great message and has a positive vibe. Nothin better you could ask for in a competition like that, really #LateLate"
