Ryan Tubridy reflects on his successful year at Virgin Radio and Q102 after leaving RTE.
Ryan Tubridy has reflected on one year since starting a new job in London, saying he has 'hit the jackpot'. Today marks one year since Ryan started hosting his mid-morning show in London on Virgin Radio and Q102 . The career and life overhaul came for Tubs after a turbulent 2023, which saw him leave RTE following a summer of scandalous financial revelations for the national broadcaster.
Reflecting on the past year, Ryan said he feels grateful to have settled into London life and has thanked his colleagues and listeners for their support. Taking to Instagram, he shared: 'A year ago today, I started a new job in a new station in a new city! From the moment I walked through the door at Virgin Radio, I was welcomed in the warmest way by a beautiful bunch of people who love doing what they do for a living. 'I’ve made new friends, been to places I never expected to go and interviewed people I always wanted to meet. When a job doesn’t feel like work, you’ve hit the jackpot! Thank you to all my colleagues both in Virgin and in Q102 in Dublin (who have been equally lovely) and thank you to all the listeners for joining our club. 'Here’s to another year of loving life and always erring on the side of joy!' Ryan was met with support from his followers, with one person writing: 'Well done, Ryan. The cream always rises to the top! Go you!' Another added: 'Delighted for you. Happy New Year'. While a third person gushed: 'Onwards and upwards. You deserve every success Ryan. Love your good nature and your joie de vivre.' The post comes after Ryan recently admitted there were times in his career where he acted like 'an insufferable pain in the hoop
