The ex-RTE star announced he will be interviewing Iceland's Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdóttir

Ryan Tubridy revealed his next gig will bring him to Iceland to interview the country's Prime Minister.

He said: "Iceland-bound in November where I'll be interviewing crime writer extraordinaire, Ragnar Jónasson and Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdóttir on stage together to talk about their terrific thriller, Reykjavik."AND on the Friday. I''ll chat with the wonderful Liz Nugent. Cannot wait," he added in the social media announcement.

The annual event, which is described as "a literature festival celebrating darkness in all its forms" will take place in Reykjavík from November 15-18. "So, I want to go over. I won’t sample their cuisine, which is fermented shark and pickled herrings and stuff like that. But I will chance a beer or two."
