Ryanair flight diverted as four Irish men hauled off plane due to disturbances

The disturbances occurred as Ryanair flight FR9177 headed from Dublin to Ibiza

Four Irish holidaymakers were hauled off a Ryanair plane after it was diverted to Majorca following problems on board as they drank alcohol.Police today confirmed four passengers had been hauled off the aircraft and were now facing fines for breaching air security after being formally identified.

The police spokesman said: “We have no record of any assault on board. There were no formal arrests." The four men hauled off the plane are understood to have been forced to make alternative arrangements to reach their holiday destination. Reports at the time said a group of up to 20 holidaymakers had been involved in the unruly drink-fuelled disturbance and three passengers were removed and detained by French cops.
