Some shoppers say they have 'given up' with the price of own-brand butter
Sainsbury's shoppers say they have "given up" with the price of own-brand butter after seeing the price of it on shelves. The cost of living crisis has seen tons of items soar in price.
Inflation means that the price of many items have been forced to increase with many shoppers pointing out how much essentials items have gone up by. And one shopper in Sainsbury's pointed out just how much own-brand items have gone up by especially butter. Thresa Berry pointed out the prices on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains, as reported by Birmingham Live. She said: "Been to several supermarkets and £1.99 seems to be the going rate for a packet of own-brand butter now !! Crazy times !!"
Other shoppers compared just how much the price of butter has soared by in all stores. Julia Glenister said: "It’s totally unjustifiable how is it possible for the price to rise soooo much within less than a week." While Raine Rebecca Jones added: "I sent my husband a picture of butter at tescos for £1.99 earlier as I was so annoyed. I bet the farmers aren't even seeing and increase in their profits either. It was £1.45 at the beginning of the year!"
